For the 2012 Zara Man look book it is clear that sleek, clean and fitted are adjectives more important than the trends associated to them. The royal blue trousers below are a good example of this, and they accent nicely against the printed tee. This is how men should dress. Not all men, mind you, I mean this attention to fit and its excellent marriage to an un-fussy look. Wide and peaked lapeled blazers are neatly decorated with simple pocket squares and the palette is mostly solid and includes a rather pleasing rusty orange. A good lesson on modern dressing, if anything.View Comments
Colour makes me happy so I decided to share this short campaign post starring Noah Mills for UK retailer NEXT. Coloured chino’s espadrilles and above the knee board shorts. Sounds like a summer in Cape Town to me.View Comments
Bronx have taken an extreme but fun approach to getting Facebook ‘likes’, by launching a somewhat interactive billboard in Cape Town on the corner of Church and Buitensingel Street . You may not get to touch the billboard but you do decide how much facial hair the model gets to grow. The campaign runs for the month April and aims to get the word out about their new ‘manly and rugged’ range of men’s footwear. The campaign comes from Creative Marketing Agency, Bletchley Park, who conceptualized the idea and built the infrastructure with ropes, digital servo motors and Facebook integration.View Comments
Ah, Danny boy. Aunty Viv has enlisted Daniel Bamdad for the season campaign for her latest collection for Vivienne Westwood Man. Obviously Juergen Teller was there to shoot the spring/summer 2012 duds. The usual suspects were present, oversized trousers, dramatic details and even some satin lapels. Nicely played Viv.View Comments
I really loved this shoot. Regardless of why it was conceived or where it ends up, these images were altogether inspiring and beautiful. I want to look like this guy when I grow up. Chic, well put together with the right injection of quirk. The images are a preview of spring looks where we start to play with rich prints, colour and texture. Photographed by Blair Getz Mezibov the shoot took place at the Renee and Chaim Gross Foundation in NYC, and was styled by Christopher Campbell. Grooming by Martial Vivot. Good job indeed.

With Marni x H&M available in March and this collection from Topman out now, it’s quite clear that the trend for menswear is all about the print. Not to mention the obvious 70s influence in both cut and design. Just look at the gallery below to see what I mean. And while you’re at it check into their online store here.
It’s here! Well, almost. Come the 8th of March H&M stores worldwide (approximately 260 locations) will stock the latest collaboration to come out of the Swedish brand. This time of course, the anticipated collection comes from Marni. The menswear collection is a lot milder than ladies wear in terms of print but still delivers a great high-fashion platter that features square ties, scarves, coats and shirting with opposing colour detailing. Definitely need to get out to this range, on the basis alone that you will probably enjoy more wear out of it than, say, Versace x H&M. What are your thoughts on this collaboration?
The massively anticipated arrival of the Marni x H&M collaboration is finally here. It launched this past week in Los Angeles, so naturally it was full of celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Lykke Li and even Mel Gibson who wanted to
get paid show support. The event was held in a gorgeous private residence and hosted by Marni’sFounder and Creative Director, Consuelo Castiglioni. See the video below… lot’s and lot’s of Marni in it. Obviously.

A South African in New York… It has a ring to it. Having made his career a solid one locally, model and photographer Bryce Thompson is now making a name for himself in the United States. First we saw him showing at Todd Snyder’s SS12 show but a day later our boy walked the Michael Bastian show alongside model-great Tyson Beckford.
Featuring a host of soft cottons and lightweight pastels, Zara for SS12 are aiming at a cool summer, presumably to aid you between the beach house and the yacht with safari influences. We need these now already so what are the chances of getting them in our local stores? Hmmm… Shot by David Sims featuring Robin Ahrens.
